"Bravo-shouts for the young conductor"
Reviews of concerts with Philharmonie Südwestfalen: "Also here were bravo-shouts, which were surely intended especially for the conductor, who together with the musicians, presented Symphony No. 1 by Elliott Carter in such a successful way. Also the success with Schuberts "Unfinished" Symphony was largely on his account".
"Christian Kluxen continuously led the opposing lines to eachother and joined them together. However in the second movement there was more focus on the contrasts that emphasized the sudden fluctuations, but were then again unified in a very concentrated ending."

Ein Heldenleben with Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
Review in The Herald: "...and the colossal full orchestra, with staggering quality from its principals, devastatingly beautiful playing from leader Rachel Spencer, and Kluxen in overdrive, blew the whole place away with a monumental, glorious performance of Strauss's Ein Heldenleben. Another one for the record books."

Review: RSAMD Symphony Orchestra, Nielsen, Strauss, Schumann
The Herald: "Christian Kluxen, the newly appointed assistant conductor of the RSNO, took hold of the young musicians and evidently understood their needs, his confidence and passion filtering through his baton to the orchestra as they tackled a demanding programme with technical assurance.... the highlight was Nielsen’s Symphony No 2, which showcased the musicians at their best, Kluxen exploiting the orchestra’s rich sound to find intricate details within each movement."

The Herald: "Danish conductor with designs on sweet music"
"When the RSNO announced the appointment of 28-year-old Dane, Christian Kluxen, to the three-year post of assistant conductor, it looked as though they had struck gold and had found, for what is essentially a learning post, somebody who was pretty much fully formed."

Review of season debut with Århus Symphony Orchestra
"Conductor was the young Dane Christian Kluxen, who is now employed as Assistant Conductor with The Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He and the orchestra did not wawer and delivered a great over all performance of the Double Concerto for Alto Flute and Englishhorn by Karsten Fundal. Grieg's Holberg-Suite was a quiet starter, but then a tight energy emerged in Schumann's First Symphony. This "Spring Symphony" was far from boring."

Review of concert with Odense Symphony Orchestra
Concert in Roskilde Cathedral with Odense Symphony Orchestra at the International Schubert Festival: "Christian Kluxen conducted with the enthusiasm of a young musician, but with the confidence and overview of an older, experienced one. He gave time between the phrases, so that the new did not overthrow the previous before it had settled in. And he got the orchestra to play with an admirable precision."
